A major issue in Latin America this 21st century is the lack of safe industrial maintenance, literally destroying new equipment, sometimes only a few month in operation.
Mavi has observed that some important companies which had well established and efficient maintenance programs, have literally abandoned the good practice.
Relying on sub-contracted third parties, mostly unaware of the basic procedures, like reading the manuals or asking about details of operation. And blaming the manufacturer if something goes wrong.
Some machines have been almost destroyed, wrongly tuned or operated with bad electrical conections, sometimes running on one drive only.
Never cleaned, inspected, welds checked, bolts refastened (important with vibratory equipment). And sometimes returning the equipment during the warranty period, arguing falsely to be badly assembled, unreliable, etc.
Maintenance, is a must, always. Ask the airlines and hospitals.
It is a major issue to have equipment working well for over many years.
