Vibratory feeders in steel works have to be equipped with special linings in order to avoid any wear of the feeder´s pan and allow a long downtime free operation. The longer the maintenance free working period the better.

Many materials have been recently introduced to the manufacturers of vibratory equipment and for the extreme operating conditions at Arcelor, Mavi chose three differente types of linings.

For medium abrasiveness, Usiminas special USI AR steel plates have been selected, for severe conditions Eutectic´s CDP hardweld plates were the choice and finally for very heavy abrasiveness conditions NTK ceramic plates, 20 mm thick were considered adequate.

Other linings like polyurethane, rubber and Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene are also a possible choice depending on the application.
