Important Mavi customers from the United States visit ship´s memorial and are impressed by its size

A company specialized in vibratory drives and equipment is an important distributor for Mavi vibratory drive components in the U.S. and sends us an interesting description of the USS MIssouri Battleship.

"This ship was launched by Miss Margaret Truman, daughter of President Harry S. Truman, who was the Missouri's sponsor on January 29, 1944, commissioned in June, joined the Pacific Fleet in November, first arrival in Hawaii on December 1944.

Site of Japan's official surrender to the United States and the end of World War II. Surrender signed on the 01 deck of the Missouri on September 2, 1945.

Its link with Brazil is important because on September 8-19th President Harry Truman and family ride Missouri from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Norfolk, VA. Crossing-the-line ceremony held 11 September with the American first family participating."

Hopefuly one day all ship´s with cannons and similar equipment rest as memorials only.
