Velopen screener from Mavi for Arcelor, the largest ever.

In October 2006 Mavi has delivered a big screener for limestone, 2.700 mm large and 7.500 mm long, to separate fines smaller than 5 mm. The CST Arcelor steel works in Vitória is revamping its limestone processing and increasing capacity .

Mavi has delivered over 5.000 vibratory machines since 1974 for steel plants in Brazil. This particular screener is the largest ever build for limestone by Mavi, driven by two E-4600 unbalanced cells, 50 HP total. The 10.000 Kg machine was build in three separated sectors, to be assembled on site, as the erecting is a rather difficult task in the existing plant.

1 The front part of the giant screener, disassembled for transportation and erecting.
2 The perforated plates are the screening media, easy to change when worn out.
3 The partially assembled Velopen 2.700 x 7.500 screener.
4 The size is impressive when compared to the technicians assembling the drive units.
