Instead of sturdy and maintenance intensive screw conveyors or difficult to clean belt conveyors, Latin American sugar mills are ordering heavy duty natural frequency vibratory conveyors build by Mavi Máquinas Vibratórias Ltda. in São Paulo, Brazil.
Since 1982 all major Latin American sugar mills have replaced belts under sugar centrifuges, a part of the process where high output and high speed is required. Revitran vibratory conveyors are natural frequency tuned machines with rectangular shaped troughs, normally with covers, placed on a counterbalanced frame and coil springs. All driven by a single electric motor with electronic speed adjustment system (inverter).
For the 2002 crop many Latin American sugar producers decided to replace belts and screw conveyors on a much larger basis, mainly because of the rugged low wear and simple low maintenance operation of Revitran conveyors. Each unit has only 4 roller bearings and a set of motor and pulleys, and no rotating or sliding parts in contact with the material flow.
All machines have been recently installed and are running under full load as the 2002 crop started at May 19.
