Aluminium powder production with Revitran processors - a 1982 technology, still a success

The production of aluminium powder is a rather complicated process, with many different steps, but since 1982 Mavi has in a joint development with a major producer simplified the task in many ways.

Aluminium powder is used as part of explosives for the mining industrie, rockets fuel, surface covering and protection, etc.

Liquid aluminium is sprayed in a chamber through a ring tube and nozzles, fed with a special gas. This highly compressed gas transforms the liquid aluminium in tiny spheres, wich are later collected in a specially build Revitran conveyor, with a rare and specific internal lining.

The collected powder is cooled in a Mavicol helical vertical conveyor, also from Mavi and afterwards screened with Rotopen round screeners from Mavi.

The different materials are later processed to flakes, fine powders, etc, mainly by vibratory equipment.

1 Assembling the lower frame, later concrete filled to avoid transmission of vibrations to the ground and disturbing the spraying process.
2 A view of the charging opening, where sprayed aluminium is blasted into the specially lined Revitran conveyor.
3 The dimensions are respectable, stressing Mavi´s manufacturing limits, with total weight of some 25.000 kg.
4 A complete view of the monster, one of many build since 1982. A genuine Mavi technology.
5 Some customers call it the "locomotive" or the "tchutchu"...
6 The upper frame while being assembled, a difficult piece to move around.
