Cooling foundry sand is a simple task for the Viproc fluidized bed vibratory equipment. Mavi delivered over 50 units since 1978 for all major Latin American foundries. From our smallest unit (1300 x 2300 mm) to the largest (3.000 x 11.000 mm) the preference is the vibratory fluidized bed system, with water injection.
The largest operator in Latin America is General Motors, with four units 2.500 x 8.800 mm, each for 120 t/h , 140 degrees centigrade hot sand. The average output temperature is around 45 Celsius, enough for an easy sand reclaiming and mixing process. Fundição Tupy, Brazil largest foundry in Joinville, State of Santa Catarina, operates the largest individual unit, for 200 t/h , 150 Celsius hot sand, since January 2001 with zero downtime, 24 hours a day.
The system is computer controlled and the amount of water, speed and air volume adjusted to the different operating conditions, for example varying input temperatures or sand capacities.
The Mavi cooling process is based on the Uhde vibratory technology, for many years the partner regarding foundry equipment development.
