Metal powderizing by liquid spraying, new process technique with Revitran conveyors.

A large Brazilian company specialized in the production of metals powderizing systems has purchased a special extra-heavy Revitran conveyor.

This unique equipment has been designed to withstand temperatures on its coveying lane of something around 1.200 degrees Celsius.

The equipment will simultaneously be cooled by means of a water flow under the refractory special steel conveying pan.

After a set of tests with smaller equipment, the company settled for this 1.600 x 8.000 mm counterbalanced conveyor with a very smal drive of only 10 HP. The heavy counterbalancing, concrete filled, was needed in order to have full vibration isolation as well as less moving parts, as usual in some said modern three way systems. Less parts, less noise.

The 80.000 hours drive (electrics excluded) is controlled by means of a frequency inverter which again is controlled by external computerized systems. So speed can be adjusted to the optimum point of operation.

The heavy counterbalancing frame (12 tons) is placed on special pneumatic elastomeric supports with controllable isolation characteristics, to perfectly adjust the neutralization of most vibrations produced by the equipment up to 99%.

1 The small electric motor is sufficient to activate the system. Ressonance is the secret and how to calculate the right point of operation,
2 The outlet includes a non-clogging grate,
3 The huge counterbalancing frame, to be filled with concrete on the erection site.
4 An overall view. The conveying pan is elastically supported by washer-springs, in order to absorb longitudinal dilatation by rising temperature.
5 The refractory steel pan is build in pieces, for easy replacement when worn out.
