Since 1961, Mavi builds Rotopen round screeners, some 4.000 units are probably in operation all over Latin America, mainly Brazil. The preference is the result of a sturdy structure, a long lasting drive (recently a 30 years old unit was sent for repairs) and the main reason: the screen frames allow the stretching of the screen cloth withou special tooling or frame replacement. Similar to a stiching frame, the grandmothers knew well.

Recently Febratec as all other Brazilian steel shot producers, ordered a set of nine multi-deck round screeners, 950 mm diameter and a 1 HP drive.

The preference for Mavi was clear, the screeners are a standard among steel shot producers as well as the possibility of financing by Finame, Brazil´s official program for machine purchasing, locally or even abroad.

The year 2010 was a year of plenty for Rotopen round screeners, despite heavy competition from Asia, but the lack of overall quality, local technical assistance and catastrophic electrical problems with drives has again directed Latin American buyers to better quality.
