In 2014, Gerdau S/A large privately owned Brazilian steel producers installed a new 1.200 x 5.000 mm Velopen single decker.

Since 1978 Gerdau prefers this kind of Mavi equipment for the harsh and continuous operation in this Minas Gerais plant. Driven by two heavy-duty Vimot A-40-6 ,  2 x 4 HP vibrators, this Velopen screener is for a recent expansion in the Barão de Cocais plant.

Other similar units are in operation in the same plant, some of them for over 35 years now.
