Still a complicated year for Mavi.

Still a complicated year for Mavi. A slow market and fierce competition from Asia are causing us some trouble.

Orders have decreased to 2008 levels, new  larger orders are not in sight. Argentina is a problem, as many of our customers are exporters for that country, in deep financial trouble. Practically bankrupt, while cinically sustaining everything is ok...

A few Brazilian steel companies are investing in small retroffitings of very old vibratory equipment, some foundries too. But the minerals sector, fertilizers and agriculture go for cheap Asian imports. Difficult to compete with those prices...

 

For Arcelor Mittal in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil, a new set of heavy high temperature Vical-A vibratory conveyors. Complementing a set of machines delivered in 1988...
To cope with ever growing demands for certified materials (not always necessary...), Mavi has been certifying with TÜV São Paulo, a new line of Atex 22 vibratory drives. Our chief for drives making sure it all went well.
The machine shop 'command central´.  These three guys are always around the factory, helping load a truck, buying something in emergency, talking to visiting customers.
And welders welding all the time, according to ASME, AWS or other standards needed. Mavi has the qualification.
