Spiral elevator Mavicol 1.300 x 7.500 mm from Mavi

In May 2015 the first of two Mavicol spiral elevators for urea granules (elevation and simultaneous cooling) was tested and delivered to Grasp in São Paulo, Brazil.

All parts in contact with the material stream were made in AISI 304 Stainless steel. Special Ex-proof drives with a costly Brazilian recertification were imported in record time to meet the deadlines.

The spiral flights were individually deep formed with a special lathe, so lesser welding was required. The central tube was pressrolled at Mavi, in order to keep the material under less tension than standard welded tubes this size.

An overall mesh 80 finish was done, a complicated task.

All tested and with special supports for transportation ready, this first unit will be installed and operated very soon.

Since 1961 Mavi builds spiral elevators for the Latin-American market. This is one of the largest ever.
